Earlier today, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“CFTC”) published a notice announcing that its Technology Advisory Committee (“TAC”) will hold a public meeting on January 26th to discuss issues related to blockchain and the potential application of distributed ledger technology to the derivatives market. In addition to the blockchain related issues, the TAC will consider the CFTC’s proposed Regulation Automated Trading, as well as matters related to swap data standardization and harmonization.
Interested market participants can submit written statements to the CFTC’s TAC in advance of that meeting by following the instructions available at the published meeting notice, which is available here.
Good day. Good opportunity for regulatory evolution. DR2
